Plan of the Day 19 April 2021

 We will drill in person Monday, 19 April at 1900. Uniform is Navy Working Uniform (NWU) Type I or Type III.

This week's drill will be in person. Our focus will be on Flagship Competition preparation. Same attestation and intake protocols, with mask wearing, temperature taking and filling out/signing of forms. We will continue to review records and ask parents to come in at the beginning or end of drill to sign required forms as needed. If you took home forms please have them signed before you come to drill. For parents, please visit our annual inspection page for information and to download forms to fill out ahead of time if able. Uniform is NWU with parka and/or fleece liner necessary.

Visit our Flagship page for all the updated information. The date is Saturday 24 April. Muster will be at the Division at 0530 for a 0545 departure. If you have not paid $30.00 for the event, please do so this week.

Don't forget that our PRT will be on 3 May.

1. Parents: check the new Parents Page on Homeport. It's in the "Training" menu.
2. Seniors check your status on the college tracker on the password protected Seniors Page. Report any changes.

4. Check Homeport for training opportunities. Training guidance is posted and all cadets should read it along with their parents.
5. Scholarship Opportunities for seniors. Visit the Seniors page under Cadets menu.
6. Keep working on Polaris courses.
7. Most cadets must complete a PRT in order to advance and must complete one before 30 June 2021. Click here for how to complete the PRT at home guide. PRT now authorized as a unit scheduled for 3 May as a unit

This Day in Naval History

• 18 April 1942 - The Doolittle Raid begins with 16 Army Air Force B-25 bombers launching earlier than expected from USS Hornet (CV 8), approximately 650 miles off Japan, after being spotted by enemy ships. It is the first attack by the U.S. of the Japanese mainland since Pearl Harbor. Most of the 16 B-25s, each with a five-man crew, attack the Tokyo area, with a few hitting Nagoya. Embarrassed, the Japanese revise plans and six weeks later attack the American carrier group near Midway sooner than expected.
