Monday, 27 September at 1900. Uniform: Dress Blue
Always review the Plan of the Month before heading to drill. Go to the POM page for full details. If you find any broken links or any errors please let us know. At tonight's drill we will:

Perform a Dress Blue uniform inspection. Make sure you have your cover, neckerchief (sea cadets), name tag, ribbons and black socks along with the other uniform components.
Continue preparing for presentation night on 4 October at the Stamford Yacht Club.
Update ribbon racks.

Recurring tasks:

If you still have your service record, bring it in.
Continue submitting summer training pictures for presentation night.
Bring in a copy of your COVID Vaccination CDC card for your service record if not done already.
Please fill out the USNSCC COVID-19 Cadet & Adult Screening Form linked below. This only required once, so if you filled out last drill there is no need. We still have to check and record for symptoms verbally every drill.

Today in Naval History

27 Sep 1942 - While leading a group of landing craft during the Guadalcanal Campaign, Signalman 1st Class Douglas A. Munro, USCG, participates in the evacuation of the First Battalion, Seventh Marines from Matanikau River, Guadalcanal. Using his boat as a shield between the Japanese and the Marines, he enables the operation to proceed successfully, but is killed by enemy gunfire. For his "extraordinary heroism and conspicuous gallantry", Munro is posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
