Uniform: NWU Type III.

  2. Thank you to all who volunteered Halloween Yacht Club Commissioning. Bravo Zulu.
  3. We will drill at DEALEY Division. We will prepare for the upcoming parades and the rifle detail.
  4. We have a great opportunity to be the color guard at the Brian Bill Memorial dinner. We will discuss tongith.
  5. We will continue to process summer training signup.
  6. If you need to take the PRT, come prepared. No one can go to training without a current passing PRT.​

  • 27 May 1942 - Mess Attendant 2nd Class Doris Miller receives the Navy Cross for his heroism at Pearl Harbor, Dec. 7, 1941. Adm. Chester W. Nimitz presents the medal to Miller on board USS Enterprise (CV 6). He is killed when his ship is torpedoed Nov. 24, 1943, during the invasion of the Gilbert Islands.

Uniform: Dress White / Summer Dress (NLCC).

  1. The May Plan of the Month is published on the website. Please review it thoroughly as it contains information and links to all the May events.
  2. Thank you to all who volunteered for the flag planting and SYC Commissioning. Bravo Zulu.
  3. We will drill at DEALEY Division. We will have a Dress White Uniform Inspection. You may bring civilian clothing to change into afterwards.
  4. We need at least 4 volunteers for the Halloween Yacht Club commissioning on Saturday 21 May at around 1200. We have been part of their celebration for many years and we raise the flag for them. There is food and games you can enjoy afterwards. If you did not participate last weekend, this is your opportunity. Uniform is dress white.
  5. We will discuss training opportunities for the summer and look at training requests sent by parents so far. Parents, though you are using the parent portal to secure the slots we still need to sign the paper request for the record. Please drop in before or after drill to sign.
  6. No make-up PRT tonight as it will probably rain.
  7. We will be discussing all events in May and June and necessary steps to get ready. Please see the POM and Calendar below.
  8. Training opportunities are populating through the list accessible via Quarterdeck and the new parent portal. Recruit Training (Sea Cadet Boot Camp) and League Cadet Orientation (League Cadet Boot Camp) are out, see below. Our local Sea Cadet Boot Camp will be 1-9 July at Cape Cod, MA (same place as Flagship) and League Cadet Boot Camp will be 25 Jun - 2 July in Niantic CT and you can now register. Please register before the slots fill up.
  9. Parents, the new parent portal is live. Register at here if you have not already.  A users guide is available as a link below.

  • 16 May 1919 - Three Curtiss NC seaplanes leave from Trepassey Bay, Newfoundland, Canada for the first trans-atlantic flight. Only NC 4 makes the flight successfully reaching the Azores on May 17.

Uniform: NWU Type III or PTU (if taking the PRT).

  1. The May Plan of the Month is published on the website. Please review it thoroughly as it contains information and links to all the May events.
  2. We will drill at DEALEY Division. Take out your Dress White uniform and try it on! We are shifting to Dress White uniform that will be used frequently in May and June. If your top or bottom does not fit, bring it in for replacement. If you have not yet been issued whites we will outfit you this drill. Uniform is NWU or PTU if taking the PRT. Plan on a uniform inspection next drill.
  3. We will take some pictures of the Flagship winners, so bring your medals for the photos.
  4. We will discuss training opportunities for the summer and look at training requests sent by parents so far.
  5. If you still need to take or retake the PRT, arrive ready to go in PTU.
  6. We will be discussing all events in May and June and necessary steps to get ready. Please see the POM and Calendar below.

The listings are not available yet to register but flag those dates if your cadet can attend at that time as it is recommended as their primary choice. I understand that summer plans are complex and if those dates don't work, we will help you find a training that works. See below the "boot camps" listed so far. All trainings are accessed via Quarterdeck for both cadets and parents.

  9. Seniors, another NSCC scholarship is available: CAPT Henry J. Nyland USN (ret.) Career and Technical Education Scholarship. See Quarterdeck "News and Info" tile for information. Application link here. Application Deadline: Midnight (PST) May 15th, 2022. Also send the CO your essay for local scholarship opportunities.
