- U.S. Coast Guard Academy Virtual Admission Brief & AIM Overview: Saturday morning, 28 JAN 2023, 9:00 – 10:30 AM EST. Register here. Friday evening, 08 FEB 2023, 7:00 PM EST. Register here. TheCoast Guard Academy's (CGA) Admissions briefing program is your first introduction to the CGA. The program begins with a briefing given by an admissions officer about the Academy, the Coast Guard, and the admissions process, and concludes with a cadet-led “Cadet Life” panel and a link to their virtual campus tour. There will also be an overview of the Academy Introduction Mission (AIM), the CGA’s summer immersive program.
- The USNA Office of Admissions began accepting applications on 04 JAN 2023 for their competitive Summer STEM camps. This program is designed for rising 9th - 11th graders to reinforce a range of STEM topics, including robotics, computer programming, aerodynamics, and meteorology. Qualifying Sea Cadets, especially if they are interested in attending the USNA, are encouraged to apply.
- Service Academy Summer Training Opportunities: There are several training opportunities available this summer at military academies. Linked below is a chart with the application dates, fees, etc. (Please confirm these details directly with each academy, as these may change). - We will drill Monday 30 January. Uniform is NWU Type III. We will continue Standards of Conduct Training to include USNSCC Core Values, the Cadet Code of Conduct, Alcohol and Drug Awareness, Sexual Harassment, Bullying, Hazing, Discrimination/Equal Opportunity, Fraternization, and Mental Health Awareness.
- We will continue to "field day" the spaces and conduct any necessary admin.
- If you attended winter training and did not bring in your service jacket or certificates, please bring them in.

- Spring Sail Training Opportunity: Dates: 12 MAR 2023 from Mobile, AL, Return 18 MAR 2023 to Pensacola, FL. Training Code: OB-AL-2301, Minimum Rank: SA/AA, Minimum Age: 13 by 12 MAR 2023. There are a limited number of spots available for cadets to participate in an exciting tall ship sail training this spring aboard the 131-foot schooner Harvey Gamage! During a week at sea, cadets will learn seamanship and coastal navigation from a USCG-licensed captain and her 6 crew members during a Gulf Coast cruise from Mobile, AL to Pensacola, FL. Note that Sailing Ships Maine, the operator of the vessel, requires all Sea Cadet personnel to have proof of COVID vaccination to sail.

- Happy New Year. We will drill Monday, 9 January 2023, uniform is NWU. We may spend some time outside so bring your outdoor uniform items.
- If you went to winter training please bring in your service jackets.
- Over the break we had a water pipe burst that let water in some of our spaces. The break room had to be emptied so they could clean the floor and ceiling. We will spend some time organizing the break room if available. If not be prepared to spend time in the classroom.

We will drill Saturday, 17 December from 0930 to 1130 for Wreaths Across America at Bedford Union Cemetery, 56 Clinton Rd, Bedford NY 10506. There are approximately 200 graves that will be honored with wreaths. Muster time is 0930. Last year the event went very quickly as there were plenty of volunteers to lay the wreaths. Parents, be prepared to pick up earlier. Uniform is NWU Type III. It will be cold but sunny. Check weather here. Bring your cold weather NWU items to wear (parka, fleece, mock neck, watch cap and gloves). It's easier to take something off than not have something to keep you warm.
We have 146 wreaths sponsored. Please make a last minute effort to get a few more before Saturday. Wreaths can be sponsored here: https://wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/166569/

- Uniform change. NWU is authorized for this drill. If you need to have your Dress Blue uniform inspected for training or need flashes, rating badges, ribbons etc., bring in the those components for inspection/updating.
- For those cadets going to Recruit Training and need help with your seabag, bring in what you have so far and we will instruct you on how to pack. We will finalize any paperwork for winter training. Parents, please stop by to see what's left to be done.
- We will discuss what type of holiday party we will have next week.
- We will finalize Wreaths Across America plans for Saturday 17 December.

- 25 Nov 1961- -USS Enterprise (CVAN 65), the U.S. Navy's first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, is commissioned in Newport News, Va.
DEALEY Division will participate in Bridgeport's Basket Brigade. This event prepares and distributes Thanksgiving meal baskets to needy families and veterans. We will provide traffic control but will assist in building and distributing baskets as required. It will be cold. See note 4 and come prepared. We will be outdoors most of the time.
- Date: Saturday, November 19, 2022.
- Muster: 0800.
- End of event: 1300-1400. Keep checking this page and your email for updates.
- Uniform: NWU Type III with black fleece, black thermal mock t-shirt, black wool hat and black gloves. We will issue these items as they are available. Cadets can use alternatives for the thermal shirt, hat and gloves as long as they are the correct color and style.
- Location: Public Works Facility, 581 N. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, 06604. Cadets can be dropped off and picked up at the end of the event.

- We will drill Monday, 24 October and conduct the Physical Readiness Test (PRT) for those who have not completed or must retake. Wear PT Uniform with some type of outer garment (sweats/fleece) to stay warm before and after. Bring at towel. The rain should stop by drill time.
- Tonight we will also prepare for upcoming events to include Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony on Sunday 6 November, Basket Brigade on Saturday 19 November and Wreaths Across America on Saturday 17 December. We will discuss whether to drill on Monday 31 Oct which is Halloween.

- We will drill Monday, 17 October and conduct the Physical Readiness Test (PRT). Wear PT Uniform with some type of outer garment (sweats) to stay warm before and after. Bring at towel. The forecast is light rain but hoping it will be dry enough to run the PRT. We will make a decision at the start of drill. If too rainy we will field day our spaces and conduct the PRT next week.
