Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at participating ceremonies in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad. This year National Wreaths Across America will on Saturday, December 13 December. Dealey Division will support with a color guard and laying of wreaths.
This event is also our annual fundraising event to sponsor wreaths for the cemetery. Dealey Division also receives part of the contributions to help fund our program. Please direct friends and family to sponsor wreaths at our dedicated webpage. We will drill Saturday, 13 December for Wreaths Across America at Bedford Union Cemetery, 56 Clinton Rd, Bedford NY 10506. There are approximately 200 graves that will be honored with wreaths. Muster time is 0930. The event will go very quickly as there were plenty of volunteers to lay the wreaths. Parents, be prepared to stay or pick up by 1045. Uniform is NWU Type III. Check weather here. The current forecast is for mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Bring your cold weather NWU items to wear (parka, fleece, mock neck, watch cap and gloves). It's easier to take something off than not have something to keep you warm.
