The Plan of the Month is an official document of DEALEY Division. Its contents reflect current orders of the Commanding Officer and official unit announcements. All division personnel are responsible for reading and understanding the information contained herein. Parents and guardians of cadets are encouraged to read the Plan of the Month and to make note of meeting days and special announcements that may affect personal schedules

Cadet Notes
  1. Drill: We will drill 6,13 and 27 February. In observation of Presidents' Day there will not be an official drill. If a makeup drill is scheduled it will be posted in the Plan of the Day. We will continue to prepare for Flagship and the Annual Inspection. 
  2. Promotion: Effective February 1, 2023, Chief Petty Officer promotion review boards will be convened to ensure promotion criteria are met by all Petty Officers First Class prior to promotion to the Sea Cadets’ highest rank- Chief Petty Officer. See the document linked here. 
  3. Annual Inspection: We will be inspected by our regional director on Monday 13 March at the Stamford Yacht Club. We will ensure that our service records are up to date and prepare for a personnel (uniform) inspection in Dress Blues. More details at our Annual Inspection webpage.
  4. Physical Readiness Test: The PRT will be held in 3 April with a makeup the following Monday. Start preparing now by visiting our PRT webpage.
  5. Flagship Competition: We will go to Joint Base Cape Cod at the end of April for the annual Flagship competition. We will use the preceding months to prepare. More details at our Flagship webpage.
  6. Memorial Day: Mark your calendars for the upcoming Memorial Day Parades and Ceremonies. More details at our Memorial Day webpage. Also in May we will plant flags for the VFW at Saint John’s Cemetery in Darien and participate in the Stamford Yacht Club Commissioning with a color guard and side boys.

Standing Notes
  1. Core Values and Code of Conduct: The new core values can be found here and code of conduct here.
  2. Quarterdeck: Quarterdeck is now the only way to see all relevant sea cadet websites (except seacadets.org) for cadets, parents and adult volunteers. For parents, this will the primary way to sign up your cadet for training.
  3. Recruit and Advanced Training: Parents must now have an account on Quarterdeck to see available training and sign up their cadet. The lists of available training is found on Quarterdeck 
  4. Advancement: Advancement exams should be competed at drill. Regulations state that cadets should advance one rank every year.
  5. Physical Fitness: The Physical Readiness Test Administration policy can be found here. Click on this link to see the PRT standards. Visit our PRT webpage for all the info.
  6. Awards: If you qualify for any sea cadet award, please submit a request via your chain of command. Provide proper documentation showing you meet the requirements in the awards manual.
  7. Attendance: Regulations require cadets should attend 75% of all scheduled drills. If you cannot attend, you shall notify your chain of command. Failure to attend could result in the discharge from the program. 
  8. Enrollment Fees: The cost of (re)enrollment for 2023 is still $90.00 for all cadets. Payment is due to receive your new ID card. Early enrollment is sometimes required to attend training. Make checks out to DEALEY DIVISION USNSCC. We now take electronic payment via Venmo.
Staff Notes
  1. The Officer and Midshipman Guide (OMSG) is required for all Instructors and Darkness 2 Light training  annually for all adults. Each course is available via Quarterdeck.
  2. Officer Professional Development (OPD) courses are required for officer promotion and to staff recruit and advanced training. Check the training list on Homeport to find available courses. 
  3. The News and Info section of Quarterdeck has valuable information for all volunteers.
