Plan of the Day 7 March 2022

Drill: Monday, 7 March 2022.
Time: 1900
Uniform: NWU Type III. Dress Blue for cadets who have not yet been inspected.

  1. We will drill in person. If you are not fully vaccinated, you are required to wear a mask. We will socially distance whenever possible.
  2. All Cadets who have not yet been uniform inspected will wear Dress Blue Uniform.
  3. A new uniform manual has been issued. Please review it thoroughly.
  4. Please review the "Rudder Post". It contains the latest information of all Sea Cadet news and events. There are many USNSCC Webinars for March. You should have received an email from NHQ listing all of them and you will find them posted on our Blog as well.
  5. Are you a musician? Consider Auditioning for the NSCC Advanced Music Summer Training 2022. Click here for information.
  6. 2022 NSCC Scholarship Program. Online applications for the Naval Sea Cadet Corps 2022 Scholarship Program are being accepted from 18 February – 03 April 2022. The CAPT Henry J. Nyland, USN (ret.) Career and Technical Education Scholarship applications will open in early April. Apply here.
  7. Navy League scholarship information can be found here. The deadline for submissions is March 11, 2022. If you have any questions regarding scholarships, please click the learn more button above or contact scholarships@navyleague.org.
  8. We will continue to discuss Flagship Competition and Annual Inspection. Please fill out and bring in the Flagship Liability Form.

  • 10 Mar 2001 - USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG 81) is commissioned at Naval Station Norfolk. The 31st destroyer of the Arleigh Burke class is the fourth U.S. Navy warship to be named after a British citizen. Churchill has a Royal Naval officer assigned permanently to the ship and she flies the Royal Navy’s White Ensign as well as the Stars and Stripes. 
  • 10 Mar 2001 - USS New Orleans (LPD 18) is commissioned at New Orleans, Louisiana. The second of the 12-ship San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock warships, New Orleans is homeported at Naval Base San Diego.
