1. ​No Drill Monday 10 October in observance of Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples' Day.
2.  Any Cadet who needs to come to base must pre-arrange through the chain of command. Do not just show up. Civilian clothing is fine. A parent must be with you.
3. Physical Readiness Test on 17 October. Final week to prepare.
4. 2022 Winter Training Guidance has been published at available on Homeport accessible via Quarter Deck. Document is linked below as well. This is an important read for parents wishing to sign up their cadet for training and includes detailed instructions.

• 10 October 1985 - Navy F-14's launch from USS Saratoga (CV 60), intercept an Egyptian 737 airliner over international waters, and direct it to Sigonella, Sicily. The airliner was carrying four Middle Eastern terrorists who hijacked the Italian cruise ship Achille Lauro Oct. 7 and murdered a U.S. citizen. The hijackers are taken into custody.
